ARE YOU DOING Telehealth or IN-PERSON SESSIONS? Currently I am doing both in-person sessions and telehealth (for clients located in New York State only). I typically think Couples work is best done in-person, especially when we're getting to know each other so I generally like to meet with Couples in-person.
WHAT ARE YOUR DAYS/HOURS? I see clients Monday-Thursday during the week. I have daytime and evening hours, however those evening spots tend to go very quickly as many people need to come after work. Typically it's easier to get started quickly if you have flexibility in scheduling and can be seen during the daytime hours. I do not have any weekend availability.
ARE YOU ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS? Currently the only in-person openings I have are during the day before 3pm. If you are open to telehealth there is more flexibility in the schedule and I can get you in sooner.
DO YOU TAKE MY INSURANCE? I do not accept any insurance for Couples Therapy.
For individual therapy I happily accept Fidelis and Aetna insurance.
Any other insurance I would be an out-of-network provider. In these cases what happens is you would pay out of pocket to me, and then I would provide you an invoice called a Superbill that insurance companies require for reimbursement. How much your insurance will reimburse you is entirely determined by the plan you have. Some plans have high out-of-network deductibles and you would have to chip away at that first before they would start paying, and some have great out-of-network coverage and will reimburse 80% of the cost. It really depends on the plan. My suggestion is always to reach out to your insurance carrier and ask about receiving out-of-network psychotherapy from a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (sometimes the specific credentials make a difference).
HOW DO I GET STARTED? Once you feel comfortable enough we schedule an appointment usually via email. Then I'll send you an email with a link to my client portal. There you can review and electronically sign all the paperwork ahead of time. There's also a quick questionnaire to fill out that gives me a little background information about you.
HOW MUCH DOES IS COST? Sessions are $130 per hour for self-pay. When you start there will be a section on the client portal for you to enter a credit card or an HSA/Flex card for payment. That is the card that will be charged at the end of every session for your fee or co-payment. If you're wanting a Superbill to submit to you insurance to try to get Out-of-Network reimbursement you can let me know and they will automatically go out the 10th of every month.
