Individual, Couple, and Family Therapy

WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE

"Courage, the original definition of courage, when it first came to the English language- it's from the Latin word 'cor', meaning heart- and the original definition was to tell the story of who you are with your whole heart."
-Brene Brown

When people hear "courage" they typically think of grand heroics or lions roaring. When I hear courage I think about Brene Brown's explanation of the word. To show your heart, your story, to someone else is an act of bravery that does not compare to grand heroics and theatrics.

The point of my therapy approach is to listen to and witness you tell your story. It can be difficult to open yourself up like that, but I've found that with an open heart healing can find it's way in finally.

Though a person's past can be a big part of therapy, I like to keep a lot of the focus on writing the story of their future.

I know accepting you need help with a certain issue is one thing, but actually making that appointment- heck, even making the call or sending the e-mail to set up the appointment seems daunting and nerve wracking. Because I understand this I go out of my way to help make you feel comfortable in my space. This can be hard and I get it. Send an e-mail and let's see if it will be a good fit for you.
